Random Scripture

This application randomly selects a verse of scripture from the Standard Works of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which includes The Old Testament, The New Testament, The Book of Mormon, The Docrine & Covenants, and The Pearl of Great Price.  The text of the verse does not appear here, but rather a hyperlink to the text is generated (for reasons of copyright and avoiding potential issues related to web scraping).

If the scripture titles have not been translated into your language, Old Testament and New Testament links will be generated based on the King James version for the random verse selection, so it's possible for it to select a verse number that doesn't exist in another language's version.  Namely, not all translations of those two volumes end up with the same verse numbering.  For example, the site I link to uses Hermann Menge's translation for the German version which splits Joel 2 into two chapters, resulting in four total chapters as opposed to three in the King James Version.
