When you get on an airplane they call you in groups. “Priority seating” passengers with A-tickets get on the plane first, so they get first choice when seats aren't assigned. As usual, the front always fills up with people who want to be the first ones off the plane when it lands. As the rest of us with the D-tickets make our walk of shame toward the back, we try not to smack the people in the isle seats with our carry-ons, but it's really hard not to since they make zero effort to pull their elbows in. If you've got any courtesey, it's like running a gauntlet as you try to pull your shoulders in and make yourself as narrow as possible.
Well, I say that if people who want priority seating so that they can be first off when the plane lands and not get clocked by my laptop bag, boarding should be done in reverse priority! Let the D-ticket peasants get on first but make them move all the way to the back. Then let the A-ticket passengers on last and they can then take the front seats without the gauntlet running them. Overall, boarding would run much quicker this way.
