Whenever we crack open eggs to cook, we throw the shells into a bucket, then later we crush them and feed them back to the chickens.  It's an excellent source of calcium for their continued egg production.

Last night my wife asked me, “Did you dump out the empty eggs?”

I was confused for a moment, then asked, “You mean the egg shells?”

She'd had a long day.
